Rayleigh Art Group Christmas Party

As usual our Christmas Party was good fun with plenty of food, laughter and of course the obligatory table quiz.

This year we had Marlene, a local lady, come with her husband and give us a very informative talk with a slide show on how to keep bees. She was extremely interesting and the photographs were superb with close up shots of the bees, hives and of course honey combs. I don’t thing there was a noise amongst us and we all sat soaking up all the information that was given to us.

Over the past few months several members of our Club have had a piece of a large painting to complete and we put these all together making a large picture of The Queen. Unfortunately 3 pieces didn’t get handed in but it didn’t really spoil the overall effect and it was interesting to see how each member had tackled their piece of the painting. The picture on the left is the original.

We had a table of art materials that had been the late Brian Jones’ that were for members to take and make a donation to The British Heart Foundation, which came to £125.60. Thank you to all those who donated and well done for raising such a large amount of money.

Have a lovely Christmas and a Healthy New Year to you all. See you in January – 9th January 2013 is our next workshop.

Christmas Party

Rayleigh Art Group will be holding their annual Christmas Party on Wednesday 5th December 2013, from 7.30 pm, at the Todman Centre, Castle Road, Rayleigh (This is next door to the Cedars Centre where the group normally meet).

All members and their guests are invited to a social evening with fun and games – you just need to bring some food.

If you have had a piece of the ‘Mural’ to paint, please remember to bring it with you so that we can assemble all the pieces together. With regards the competition, the winner will be the person with the best painted piece.

We look forward to seeing everybody and have a good time. Smile
