It is with great sadness that we have to report the death of Tom Hern, the husband of our Secretary Annabelle, on Saturday. Tom had been suffering from leukaemia for most of last year and receiving chemotherapy for several months, but finally succumbed to the illness, after being admitted to hospital on Thursday. He will be greatly missed by Annabelle and his daughter Becky and our sincere condolences go out to Annabelle and her family.
Tom, whilst not a member of Rayleigh Art Group, was always there when needed to transport screens and help at setting up exhibitions and whenever he was asked to help at group functions. He was an extremely valued helper and will be greatly missed by the Committee and members as a whole.
Whilst no details of the funeral are yet available, as soon as these become known we will publish them for members information.
