‘Owls After Dark’ takes place at the Beechwood Equestrian Centre in Rettendon on the 13th February. Featuring two Owl demonstrations with special lighting effects and a classical musical accompaniment, plus a soup and roll supper and a sweet treat. It also includes the chance to hold an Owl and take home a framed photograph of your experience. Please find attached a picture of his leaflet for more information.
Tickets are normally £30 per person but he would like to offer you £20 a ticket for a minimum of six tickets to thank our members for their support. Please contact Colin Mossman to indicate your interest.
Rayleigh Art Group will be holding their AGM on Wednesday 25th October 2017 commencing at 7:30pm sharp, in the Cedars Centre, Castle Road, Rayleigh.
This is your opportunity to have an input into how the club is run so it is important that as many of you attend as possible.
The AGM will be followed by a funny and enjoyable game of bingo, where Colin Mossman will be jiggling his ‘balls’, together with Cheese and Wine, so well worth coming along just for that!
Jane High will be running two ‘Animal Pastel Workshops’ on 3rd and 10th August 2017, 10:00am – 2:00pm, at Hadleigh Old Fire Station, 20 High Street, Hadleigh, SS7 2PB.

On Wednesday 24th May 2017, Rayleigh Art Group will be hosting a demonstration by Sue Spiers, ‘Marine Scene in Acrylics’. This will take place in the Cedars Centre, Castle Road, Rayleigh and commences at 7.30pm.
All members are invited together with guests – there is a small charge for non-members but includes Tea/Coffee and biscuits.
Sue lives in Bradwell-on-Sea, on the East Coast, and has painted professionally for over twenty eight years. The seaside, boats and watery places are the subjects for acrylic on canvas and ‘en plein air’ in watercolours. Sue exhibits with ‘Salty Dogs’, a collective of nautical artists, takes part in Burnham Art Trail and has her work for sale in ‘The White Harte’ in Burnham and the Taplin Gallery in Woodbridge, she also shows in exhibitions throughout the year.
Sky Arts looking for artists to take part in the ‘Portrait Artist of the Year’ and ‘Landscape Artist of the Year’. This looks an exciting opportunity which we hope you will pass on to your members.

It is with deep regret we have to report that Gwen Brooks who was a member of Rayleigh Art Group, passed away on Wednesday 25th January, at home with her husband Bob and family.
Her funeral will take place on Tuesday 14th February 2017 at 12.20 pm in the small chapel at Sutton Road Crematorium. The family have requested family flowers only and any donations should be made to a children’s charity.
Rayleigh Art Group members are reminded that the Annual Fish/Chicken and Chips Supper and Quiz will take place on Wednesday 22nd March 2017. The venue is the Cedars Centre, Castle Road, Rayleigh with the quiz commencing at 7.30 pm sharp.
The cost will be £7.00 per head for members and guests, with tickets available from Val Belverstone Tel. 01268 751087 – just let her know if you want Fish or Chicken.

Photos of paintings shown at the Club’s Exhibitions can also be viewed on this page, so please take the time to make a look occasionally.
